In the week of its release, Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci has revealed the band would rather have waited another ten years before adding the greatest hits collection ‘Direct Hits‘ to their back catalogue.

“We’d wait another ten years if it was up to us, but it’s a contractual thing,” Vannucci is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

“We can fill a CD so it makes good business sense at this time of year. However, it’s not like we’re so pleased with ourselves we want to put it out. It feels like a douchie move.”

Vannucci was also quizzed once again on the band’s future as he and frontman Brandon Flowers prepare to restart their respective solo careers whilst Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer take a break in Las Vegas.

“I’m looking forward to coming back when we’re ready,” he continued. “It’s a very strange existence, a huge juggling act to navigate this rock ‘n’ roll life.”
