Detention sheets which describe the young John Lennon as a ‘nuisance’ will become the latest aspect of the late Beatle’s life to be put up for auction later this month.

The reports are taken from Lennon’s time at the Quarry Bank High School from 19th May-23rd June 1955, and from 25th November 1955-13th February 1956. They highlight his well known rebellious streak, and discuss misdemeanors such as ‘fighting in class’, ‘sabotage’ and ‘shoving’.

“The sheet is typical of John Lennon, he was an extremely cheeky boy,” Peter Beech – a former general science teacher at Quarry Bank – is quoted as saying by the BBC. “He did, however, know his limits. In the classroom, if you settled John down, you generally settled the class down. His chemistry teacher Eric Oldman said that John could actually go far.”

The sheets are to be auctioned along with other Beatles memorabilia at TrackAuction.com on November 22nd, and are expected to command a sale price of around £3,000 apiece.
