The Killers‘ drummer Ronnie Vannucci has confirmed the band are ready for a ‘breather’, but added he is likely to join his frontman Brandon Flowers in using the downtime to revisit his solo career.

“I think it will be a little while,” he told the Hollywood Reporter of The Killers’ latest hiatus. “I don’t think it will take an unnaturally long time for us to get together, it’s time to take a breather and ground out a little bit. I think everybody is looking forward to putting their feet up for a little while and having some normalcy.”

When Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer last pushed for a lengthy break at the start of 2010, Brandon Flowers released his debut solo album ‘Flamingo‘ in the September of that year, while Vannucci followed soon after under the moniker Big Talk.

Later in the interview, Vannucci revealed a second Big Talk record is in the pipeline as he follows Flowers’ lead in staying active while the other half of the band put their feet up in Vegas.

“In 2011 I made a record and I think I want to make another record,” he continued. “I’m already starting it. I like to keep moving. I love that notion of momentum. I think some of the guys are just going to chill out, keep writing probably, make sure to get some rest.”
