Morrissey has been back in hospital recently to receive treatment for concussion, whiplash and an arm injury according to fansite True To You.

The nature of the injuries described has sparked speculation that the singer was involved in a car accident, but as yet no specific details have been discussed; the short post merely goes on to thank staff at Cedars-Sinai for their work.

“Morrissey has now been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles following treatment for concussion, whiplash and an arm injury,” the statement reads. “Morrissey would like to thank the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai for their ‘outstanding level of care and attention’.”

Morrissey has been in and out of hospital regularly this year as he battled a bleeding ulcer, double pneumonia and Barrett’s oesophagus – illnesses which brought a tour of the US to a premature conclusion and much more seriously were described as life threatening by his doctor.

A return to touring in South America this summer was also curtailed when a bout of serious food poisoning went through Morrissey and members of his band.
