“Roll up, roll up, it’s circus time at Camp Bestival,” organiser Rob Da Bank remarks. “Right from the start of putting on parties, back in the old days, we’ve always loved a bit of circus ballyhoo, no party is complete without a juggler or an acrobat, a hula-hooper or a contortionist and we promise that Camp Bestival 2014 won’t disappoint.”
Camp Bestival added another string to its parent event Bestival’s bow in 2008, reflecting the continuing success of the venture which Rob Da Bank started in 2004. Despite the impressive growth of the Isle Of Wight festival during the past decade, Rob Da Bank admitted earlier this month he remains envious of the speed at which Glastonbury’s tickets sell out, telling BBC Newsbeat:
“I’m very envious of Glastonbury who can go and sell all their tickets in 20 minutes. I’d love that, it would take so much pressure off. Give it another 30 years and we might be doing that as well.”
