Arcade Fire have scored another US/UK chart double with their fourth album ‘Reflektor‘.

Repeating the success of previous LP ‘The Suburbs‘, the Canadian band have followed up their number one entry on the UK Album Chart on Sunday (November 3rd) by landing the top spot on the Billboard 200 after shifting 140,000 copies – slightly down on the first week amount enjoyed by its immediate predecessor.

Previous number one, Katy Perry‘s ‘Prism‘, drops one place after sales of 92,000. The latest Nielsen SoundScan figures point to another seven days of slow sales for the US chart after last week’s overall total was reported to be the lowest recorded since 1991. Katy Perry had gone to the top spot with 286,000 copies of ‘Prism’ flying off the shelves, but the 4.5 million albums sold across the board was the lowest since Nielsen SoundScan began collecting the data in the early Nineties.

Arcade Fire are due in the UK this month for a series of low-key live shows which have been billed under the not-so-subtle pseudonym ‘The Reflektors’.
