Arcade Fire have added a second date at London’s Earls Court venue for next June after tickets for the original date were eagerly snapped up by fans this morning (November 29th).

The now-sold-out show in London on June 6th 2014 will be followed a day later with the newly added gig – both of which arrive in between what is set to be a busy spate of North American touring for the band.

The live shows announced both before and after the release of Arcade Fire’s latest LP ‘Reflektor‘ have sparked some debate due to the dress code gig-goers have been asked to adhere to. Those purchasing tickets from Ticketmaster were asked to, ‘Please wear formal attire or costume’ at the shows, causing some to question the plan and resulting in a statement from the group which read:

“To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows… please relax. It’s super not mandatory. It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played. See you soon. Love, Arcade Fire.”
