As another busy season winds down, public voting for the 2013 edition of the UK Festival Awards is now due to get underway.

Bestival will be hoping to hang on to its Best Major Festival title having broken the Glastonbury monopoly of recent years in 2012 when the Worthy Farm event went into a year’s hibernation, while other categories open to public voting include Best Metropolitan Festival, Best New Festival, Best Toilets, Best Family Festival, Best New Festival, Best Overseas Festival, Headline Performance Of the Year and Best Breakthrough Artist.

Other sections, such as Best Line-Up, Best Brand Activation, Promoter Of The Year and Outstanding Contribution To Festival Production will be decided by a panel of judges.

“It seems hard to believe that it was 10 years ago that the Festival Awards first launched,” UK Festival Awards Managing Director James Drury reflects. “Festivals have changed incredibly in that decade and it’s been a privilege to have developed with such a fascinating, challenging and exceptionally creative industry.”

“This year we’re looking at events and acts of massively different ages all competing at a top level, likewise we continue to see a huge mix of musical styles bring real diversity to the season. We’re very much looking forward to celebrating the festival-going public’s favourites.”

Votes can be registered at this link before the awards are handed out at a ceremony in London on December 2nd.
