The Vaccines will return to the site of their first ever gig this coming Sunday.
The band have arranged a one-off show at the The Windmill pub in London for October 6th, where they made their live bow back in August 2010.
The gig began a rapid rise to commercial glory as maiden single ‘If You Wanna‘ found its way on to Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show soon after, and by the spring of the following year they had bagged a UK Top 10 album.
More recently, The Vaccines released the EP ‘Melody Calling‘ after recording sessions in Los Angeles with John Hill and Rich Costey. The material hinted at a move away from the straight-forward pop leanings of their two previous studio albums, a shift which frontman Justin Young recently told Triple J came about because of a desire to not be ‘churning out the same stuff album after album’.
Tickets for Sunday’s show are priced at £10, available from 1pm today via windmillbrixton.co.uk.
