Killers‘ guitarist Dave Keuning has admitted he is ‘sick’ of life on the road after bandmate Mark Stoermer missed a gig in Shanghai due to ‘personal reasons’.

The Killers have toured extensively off the back of their 2012 album ‘Battle Born‘, a release which brought a lengthy hiatus for the Las Vegas group to an end. Yet it seems Keuning is ready for another long break as their world tour schedule nears its conclusion.

“I am sick of this, I’m done,” Keuning told NME. “The end is in sight. Some people might go, ‘Why are you complaining?’ But you haven’t done what I have done, so you can’t relate. We just toured a shitload.”

With Stoermer not present in Shanghai, Ronnie Vanucci appeared to suggest their bass player’s absence could become permanent. “I’d hope we’d keep trucking on,” he said when asked whether Stoermer could leave for good. “But at the same time, it isn’t the same band.”

Frontman Brandon Flowers is already planning a second solo album as The Killers get ready to wind down, this following his 2010 debut which was also borne out of Flowers’ desire to stay busy while some of his colleagues put their feet up.
