New David Bowie tracks to receive first play this week

New music and accompanying visuals will be premiered by David Bowie this week ahead of ‘The Next Day‘s November re-release in expanded form.

A video for the stretched out 10-minute version of ‘Love Is Lost‘, mixed by James Murphy, is to be unveiled at the Mercury Prize ceremony on Wednesday (October 30th), with a full debut then arriving online from November 1st.

Also on Wednesday, three of the five new tracks which feature on the reissue – ‘Atomica‘, ‘Born In a UFO‘ and ‘Like a Rocket Man‘ – will receive their UK premieres on BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 2 and Absolute Radio respectively.

6Music DJ Lauren Laverne plays ‘Atomica’ at 10:50am, Ken Bruce spins ‘Born In a UFO’ on Radio 2 at 11.30am, and Geoff Lloyd later unveils ‘Like a Rocket Man’ on Absolute Radio at 6.45pm.

The expanded version of Bowie’s 2013 comeback album, released as ‘The Next Day Extra‘, is due for release on November 4th.
