Morrissey announces one-off book signing session

Morrissey is to treat his Swedish fans to a one-off book signing tomorrow, reports a post on fansite True To You.

In typical Moz fashion, the release of his autobiography will come in ‘Penguin Classic’ form on October 17th after an apparent ‘content dispute’ with publishers was resolved last month. And to mark the occasion, the former Smiths frontman will be in Goteborg to sign copies of Morrissey: Autobiography.

“Morrissey will appear at Akademibokhandeln Nordstan in Goteborg (Sweden) on Thursday 17 October to sign copies of his Autobiography,” the True To You message reads. “No additional book signings are planned.”

It seemed a year of cancellations was set to continue for Morrissey when the release of his memoirs was postponed just a short time before it was originally due to hit the shelves in September.

However, almost as soon as the delay had been announced, a new statement was issued by Penguin which revealed the book would in fact be arriving much sooner than we’d been led to believe.

“This is a deal for the UK and Europe, but Morrissey has no contract with a publisher for the US or any other territory,” the statement read. “As of September 13, Morrissey and Penguin (UK) remain determined to publish within the next few weeks.”
