Liam Gallagher, Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield and New Order members Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert are among those to have been officially confirmed for the London benefit concert organised by The Charlatans in memory of their late drummer Jon Brookes.

Having earlier tweeted his backing, Liam Gallagher has now been formally added to the line-up, and is described as being joined by ‘friends’ who are expected to be some of his current Beady Eye bandmates and former Oasis cohort Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs.

Along with the New Order pair and James Dean Bradfield, select members of The Vaccines have also pledged their support, as have Birmingham’s Dumb and The Chemical Brothers, who will be DJing between performances.

All proceeds raised by the concert, which is to be held on October 18th at the Royal Albert Hall, will go towards the Brain Tumour Charity. Brookes very sadly passed away in August after battling the disease since 2010.

“Following the loss of our much missed friend and drummer, Jon Brookes, we, together with some friends, are putting on a show at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 18th October 2013,” a statement from The Charlatans read.

“The show will benefit THE BRAIN TUMOUR CHARITY, which Jon was involved with during his illness. It’s our way of raising money for research into and awareness of a cancer that will unfortunately affect many lives as it has ours. We look forward to seeing you at the RAH and making it a night to remember.”
