Paul McCartney has had to settle for third place on the official UK Album Chart, with both John Newman and Pearl Jam enjoying stronger weeks than the former Beatles legend.

Jonathan & Charlotte, Cher and The Saturdays are also new entries in this week’s Top 10, with Haim, London Grammar and Kings Of Leon all dropping from the previous Sunday’s rundown.

Sir Paul was in London last week for a rare signing session at the city’s newly relocated flagship HMV shop, this after he had earlier performed a short ‘pop-up’ gig in Covent Garden.
