James Murphy’s David Bowie remix receives its premiere

James Murphy‘s extended remix of the David BowieNext Day‘ album track ‘Love Is Lost‘ received its premiere on UK radio this morning (October 10th).

Murphy has dragged ‘Love Is Lost‘ out to over ten minutes in length for his contribution to the bonus CD of ‘The Next Day Extra‘, which is due to arrive next month and offers various extras on top of the original ‘Next Day’ tracklist. The reworking, which was first played on the BBC 6Music breakfast show, will be available to stream through Bowie’s official website from midnight tonight.




The bonus CD contains another nine tracks, including four previously unreleased recordings – ‘Atomica‘, ‘The Informer‘, ‘Like a Rocket Man‘ and ‘Born In a UFO‘, as well as ‘God Bless The Girl‘, which has previously only been available on the Japanese version of the LP.

A DVD featuring the promos for past singles ‘Where Are We Now?‘, ‘The Stars (Are Out Tonight)‘, ‘The Next Day‘ and ‘Valentine’s Day‘ is also in the package which is due out on November 4th.
