Black Submarine, a new band comprising former Verve members Nick McCabe and Simon Jones, have announced their debut album will be released in February 2014.

As well McCabe and Jones, Black Submarine also includes Davide Rossi, who has in the past acted as string arranger for the likes of Coldplay and Goldfrapp, Michele Schillace – who once drummed with Portishead – and Bristol-based vocalist Amelia Tucker.

The debut album ‘New Shores’ is out on February 3rd via Kobalt Music, while the track ‘Black Submarine’ can be downloaded for free right now over at the band’s official website. The LP’s release will be followed in the same month by two UK dates at the Deaf Institute in Manchester on the 5th and at Wilton’s in London on the 6th.

After McCabe and Jones first met Rossi during the recording of The Verve’s ‘Forth‘ album, Black Submarine surfaced with the ‘Kurofune‘ EP under the moniker Black Ships in 2011.
