In readiness for his quartet of UK church gigs next month, former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes has debuted the first single to be taken from his second solo album.

Buffalo‘ is due out on digital and limited edition 7” vinyl from October 28th, and is evidently the result of very recent studio sessions: “I’ve been tucked away in the studio these last few months recording my follow up to ‘Here Come The Bombs’,” Coombes explains. “The whole process is coming together really well so I was keen to get a track out there to give people a flavour of what I’m up to.”

The UK tour will take in visits to Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds and London. As Coombes adds, the nature of the venues has necessitated a reworking of ‘Here Come The Bombs‘ tracks.

“We’ve been busy creating new arrangements for the tracks from ‘Here Come The Bombs’ specifically to work with the acoustics of the churches we’re playing in next month,” he continues. “It’s sounding great, really exciting! So I’m sure they’re going to be very unique and intimate shows, and unlike anything I’ve done before.”

Tour dates:

Glasgow, Oran Mor (19)
