Coldplay win Hollywood Song Award for ‘Atlas’

Coldplay will pick up the Hollywood Song Award at the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards later this month.

The British band have been bestowed with the prize for their track ‘Atlas‘, which forms a part of the soundtrack for the latest Hunger Games film Catching Fire.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, frontman Chris Martin will collect the gong at California’s Beverly Hilton ceremony on October 21st when he will also perform live.

“I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film,” Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence said last month.

“Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we can’t wait to share this music with audiences around the world.”

Other winners confirmed ahead of the event include 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen, Harrison Ford for his supporting role in 42 and Julia Roberts for August: Osage County.
