Courteeners frontman Liam Fray has promised fans they won’t have to wait as long for a new album from the Manchester group after a three year gap between releases was brought to an end earlier this year by ‘Anna‘.
“It was the right decision for us to go away for that long I think,” Fray has told XFM. “The next one definitely won’t be as long I don’t think. That’s all I’m supposed to say at this point.”
Later, Fray also described the last six months of touring as the best period they have had as a band. “Best six months we’ve had in the band,” he continued.
“Apart from when it all kicks off and you’re all a bit, ‘What’s going on here? Why are people paying to come watch us?’ After that kind of subsides this has been the best six months that we’ve ever had.”
Liam Fray begins a solo UK tour on the 19th of this month in Liverpool, and will also be out on an end of year trip with The Courteeners in December.
