Coldplay are set to premiere their new track ‘Atlas‘ around the world later today (September 6th) having unveiled a 30-second snippet earlier this week.
The song forms a part of the Hunger Games: Catching Fire film soundtrack, and marks the first time Coldplay have composed an original song exclusively for a movie.
A poster uploaded to the band’s Facebook page (pic) gives details of the time fans across the globe will be able to sample the new cut.
Arcade Fire are among those to have previously been involved with the Hunger Games franchise, whose latest edition hits cinemas on November 22nd.
“I have great respect and admiration for Coldplay, and we are thrilled with how well they have connected to the themes and ideas within the film,” its director Francis Lawrence declares.
“Their unwavering passion and excitement for the project elevated the collaboration even further, and we can’t wait to share this music with audiences around the world.”
