MGMT have posted a trailer for their new album and, surprisingly enough, it’s all a bit paranoid and weird.

The footage sees Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser being spied upon by dark government forces whilst trying to rehearse, and goes on to showcase a number of tracks due to feature on the upcoming self-titled LP.

MGMT have constantly warned fans to expect a further deviation into the avant-garde when they get their hands on the album, and most recently admitted to Rolling Stone that they are not even sure if it is music ‘they would want to listen to themselves’.

“So many musicians have this really commercial sensibility about everything,” Goldwasser said. “That made me really disgusted. Looking at music as a product, talking about what we were doing like a brand? We had never thought about music that way.”

The duo will be in the UK for a handful of live dates next month, which takes in shows at the Glasgow ABC, the Wolverhampton Civic, Manchester’s O2 Apollo and the London Forum.
