Jake Bugg‘s second album will arrive in November, the Nottingham songwriter has confirmed.

Shangri La‘ follows up the breakthrough self-titled 2012 debut album on November 18th, and had its lead single ‘What Doesn’t Kill You‘ premiered on BBC radio yesterday evening (September 23rd). The album was recorded with Rick Rubin, and is named after the veteran producer’s Malibu studios.

“I think you capture a bit of magic doing that, something you can’t explain,” Bugg told Zane Lowe of recording new material as-live. “It came quick but, for me, music’s what I do to get away from stuff,” he continued on the relatively quick turnaround between albums. “Even though its been crazy, when I have time to myself, it’s me picking up my guitar. I travelled lots and had some crazy experiences, so I had a lot to write about!”

Jake Bugg went to number on the UK’s Album Chart just a matter of months after the release of his debut single ‘Trouble Town‘ early in 2012. The maiden studio LP has since been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
