The launch of Apple’s iTunes Radio service was confirmed for September 18th during a conference in the US yesterday (September 10th).

At the same press day which unveiled details of a new iPhone model, Apple also announced their streaming platform will be rolled out next Wednesday.

Available on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, PC and Apple TV, iTunes Radio has the support of the four major record labels, and promises over 200 stations along with personalised channels that can be tailored to each user’s own iTunes library.

“iTunes Radio is an incredible way to listen to personalised radio stations which have been created just for you,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, remarked in June. “It’s the music you love most and the music you’re going to love, and you can easily buy it from the iTunes Store with just one click.”

An ad-free version will be offered to iTunes Match subscribers.
