Elbow have confirmed they will release a new album in March 2014, with a UK arena tour beginning soon after.
The band told fans last week to keep an eye out for a ‘special announcement’, and have come through today (September 30th) with the news that their sixth, as-yet-untitled album is due out out in the spring along with a live album and DVD entitled ‘Live At Jodrell Bank‘.
The UK tour, meanwhile, begins on April 5th at the LG Arena in Birmingham, and takes in a show at the new Leeds First Direct Arena on April 11th before concluding at the O2 in London. Tickets are onsale from October 4th, priced in most places at £30.
The LP is the band’s first since ‘Build a Rocket Boys!‘ continued their mainstream commercial success in 2011.
