On October 14th, Bloc Party will become the latest band to issue a ‘Tapes‘ mix for the Berlin record label !K7, which has been compiled by frontman Kele Okereke.

The collection includes remixes by Okereke himself, as well as Wookie, French Fries and Wiley among others. Okereke says that Bloc Party have ‘always respected dance music’, and adds:

“It’s where lots of ideas for our songs started. Our first single, ‘She’s Hearing Voices’, was very much inspired by the image of people dancing. Rhythm and groove has always been important to the band and I wanted to reflect that. I guess it’s something that I’m taking further with this mix.”
