“We’re delighted to bring ‘BIG TV’ to some of our favourite UK venues this winter,” White Lies have said after announcing an eight-date tour of Britain.
The band will take their latest studio album to Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol, London, Norwich and Birmingham during the course of the tour, which takes place at the beginning of December.
‘BIG TV‘ was described as having ‘a diversion into a bold and brash power chord heavy arena sound’ which ‘may be slowly masking an altogether more nuanced and chillingly intriguing resonance harboured by their forbearers that they once seemed destined to replicate’ in Live4ever’s review, which continues:
“The Joy Division genetic strands are still apparent however in the album opener and title track, as McVeigh’s reverberating baritone sifts through a slow paced, cutting instrumental, before shifting midway into a New Order-evoking new wave electronic pulse.”
