Video: Arctic Monkeys unveil ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High‘

Arctic Monkeys have unveiled the promo for ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High‘ as their new album ‘AM‘ prepares for its release early next month. Have a watch below.

The track is the second official taster to emerge after the release of first single ‘Do I Wanna Know?‘ and shows off a very similar sound to that of its predecessor. The video has been directed Nabil.

Speaking to NME recently, Arctic Monkeys producer James Ford said the band had been purposefully looking to ‘do something different’ in the studio when recording their fifth album.

“On the last record we tried to do a ‘band in a room’ type thing, with barely any computers used,” he said. “It was very much to tape. But this one was a case of ‘all bets are off’. The band wanted to push things on and do something different. So to move it on and make it sound different we were very open to using bits of keyboards or drum machines, or whatever worked for the song really.”
