The Vaccines‘ frontman Justin Young has made a guest appearance on the new Babyshambles album ‘Sequel To The Prequel‘.
Pete Doherty and co. revealed the news during a NME Q&A session on Twitter, with Young due to appear on ‘Seven Shades‘.
During the chat, the band also revealed their third record’s chief inspirations, citing one song which was written with classic bands such the Pixies, Wire, the Velvet Underground and The Beatles in mind. “Musically we’ve always been proud to be informed by the old timers,” they remarked.
‘Sequel To The Prequel’ will finally provide a follow-up to the 2007 effort ‘Shotter’s Nation‘ when it is released on September 2nd. An expansive UK tour will almost immediately follow the release, beginning on September 4th at the Glasgow Barrowlands.
The tour runs right through to the final stages of October, when a closing date is booked at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth on the 21st of that month.
