Queens Of The Stone Age have vowed to make New York’s Barclays Center a ‘twerk-free zone’ when they perform there in December at the end of a long period of world touring.

In the wake of Miley Cyrus gurning her way round Robin Thicke – a ridiculous spectacle which polluted the venue during last weekend’s MTV VMAs ceremony, Josh Homme‘s band have sent out a message ahead of a scheduled show on December 14th which details their plans for the performance.

“New York’s Barclays Center will be designated as a (relatively) twerk-free-zone,” a press release states. “We’re restricting teddy bears to the merch table and returning guitars, drums and other such live instruments to the Barclays stage.”

A pre-sale for the show launches on August 28th, with a general sale following on September 5th. The date will arrive at the end of a European tour for Queens Of The Stone Age which begins in Milan on November 3rd and runs through to December 1st and a show in Oslo.
