Neil Young & Crazy Horse have been forced to cancel a return to the UK this month due to an injury suffered by guitarist Frank Sampedro.

An in-demand June tour of UK arenas – which were the band’s first British shows for over a decade – were set to be followed by concerts at the Liverpool Echo Arena and London O2 on August 18th and 19th respectively, but a broken hand to Sampredo has put paid to those plans.

“Due to an accident involving Crazy Horse, the remaining dates on the Neil Young and Crazy Horse tour of Europe and the British Isles have been cancelled,” a statement reads.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes to our fans or the festivals where we were scheduled to appear. As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events.”

In addition to the aborted UK shows, the group are also now unable to fulfill a headline booking at Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival.
