Kings Of Leon are to co-host a new music and food festival in their hometown Nashville at the special request of the band’s frontman Caleb Followill.

“A few years ago, Caleb Followill quietly slipped into my restaurant Barbuto in New York, and we bonded over food and music, and throughout our many conversations, he kept asking why there wasn’t a food and wine festival in his hometown of Nashville,” Jonathan Waxman, of organisers Music City Eats, explains.

“We are inviting some truly amazing chefs from around the country, and most importantly, the best chefs and restaurants in Nashville. I am extremely excited by our shindig, and the Kings and I can’t wait until September rolls around.”

Live music, interactive demos and tasting sessions will all be on the menu when the event is held over the weekend of September 21st-22nd.

Music City Eats will also encompass the Petty Fest Nashville, when a host musicians including The Black Keys Patrick Carney, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones and The Whigs will celebrate the music of Tom Petty with a day of special covers.
