Franz Ferdinand were the musical guests of David Letterman last night (July 22nd) when they performed their brand new single ‘Right Action‘ on the long-running US chat show. Check the video out below.

Franz Ferdinand are gearing up for the release of the new album ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action‘ later this year, the group’s first studio release since 2009.

Singer Alex Kapranos has described the record as being, ‘The idea of the cynic’s search for optimism and the sceptic’s search for a manual crop up here and there’.

“I’ve always liked the lead character in Alasdair Gray’s Lanark growing the hard scales to defend the soft inner-self from the world,” he told Mojo. “Socially awkward asthmatic with a self-consuming imagination. My 19-year-old self was electrified. Maybe the album is about how to shed those scales.”

Next month, Franz Ferdinand will play two low-key UK shows in London and Glasgow after offering tickets to fans via a lottery system last week.
