Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd has revealed he is working in the studio with London songwriter Jamie T.

Jamie T has been largely inactive in a musical sense since releasing the album ‘Kings & Queens‘ in 2009, but Lloyd’s revelation, made during an interview with Topman, suggests a follow-up is close to completion.

“I’m playing with Jamie T at the moment,” Lloyd has said. “He’s finishing his new album. I occasionally guest on stuff, but I want to be in control. Jamie’s record is great, it’s really slow, angry punk. He’s a classic character. I know if I walked down Denmark Street now he’d be in the pub.”

Lloyd himself recently issued Tribes’ second studio effort ‘Wish To Scream‘. In contrast to Jamie T, the LP arrived just a short time after 2012’s ‘Baby‘ – which was named by Live4ever as one of our Essential Debut Albums Of 2012 after being described as featuring, “…thumping drums and breezy production akin to The Delays are the modern backdrop to the influences which sit in the heart of the record and it’s a blend that produces fruitful results.”
