Trent Reznor: Nine Inch Nails ‘biggest it’s ever been’

Trent Reznor has said Nine Inch Nails have returned to the music scene in the best shape of its career after a new album and world tour was announced earlier this year.

Despite Reznor appearing to put the band to bed in 2009, the album ‘Hesitation Marks‘ will arrive on September 3rd, while what is expected to eventually grow into a comprehensive world tour opens up at the Fuji Rock festival today (July 26th).

And, when speaking to the New York Times, Reznor couldn’t be happier with the shape of the band upon their comeback. “OK is not acceptable,” he says. “Strangely, we’re bigger now than we were ever before. When we put the single out, and we put tickets on sale, the question mark was answered. This is the biggest it’s ever been. Maybe it’s scarcity or time away.”

Reznor has big plans for the summer festival shows, and is taking his inspiration from the Talking Heads film Stop Making Sense, which followed the group on a 1983 tour.
