Tracks recorded by Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and pop superstar Michael Jackson way back in 1983 could finally see the light of day later this year, reports The Times newspaper.

According to the publication, an estimated three tracks were completed by the pair during recording sessions in California, but these did not result in any official collaborative release as their respective busy schedules meant they could not get back together to lay down any more songs.

In addition, one-time Queen manager Jim Beach has also claimed tension developed between the two stars after Michael Jackson brought a llama with him to the studio, and is quoted as saying:

“Mercury rang me and said: ‘Miami, dear, can you get over here? You’ve got to get me out of here, I’m recording with a llama.'”

Queen guitarist Brian May, meanwhile, apparently believes there will be ‘something for folks to hear’ in around two months time.
