The Strypes have announced the specifics of their intriguing upcoming debut album.

Having already told NME the album will contain various covers which form a part of their live set, ‘like an early Stones LP’, the Irish teenagers have now confirmed to the publication that it will be entitled ‘Snapshot‘ and is due for release in September.

“The main thing was there had to be no difference between our songs and the standards we play, it has to be seamless,” bass player Pete O’Hanlon has said.

Drummer Evan Walsh added that the group had been hoping to emulate the marathon, 12-hour session which was undertaken by The Beatles for the recording of their debut album ‘Please Please Me‘. “You know like The Beatles did on ‘Please Please Me,” he says. “Well, maybe not in a day like they did, but we were going for a week.”

In the end, the LP was recorded with veteran producer Chris Thomas over a 15 day period.
