Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody has followed in The Vaccines‘ footsteps by working on new material with One Direction.
“We wrote with Harry,” Lightbody tells today’s Sun newspaper. “It was a lot of fun. He’s a real dude actually. We’ve no idea if those songs will make it yet, though. It’s a long process. It’s great to work with other people — it’s good to flex the muscle.”
The Vaccines’ Justin Young spoke of his own studio time with Harry Styles earlier this year, describing the work as a ‘really interesting creative process’.
“A really interesting creative process, writing with pretty much the biggest pop band on the plane,” he said when in conversation with BBC Newsbeat.
“It was a very different world and very different process – that was one of the reasons I wanted to do it. I really enjoyed it. It’s the first time I’ve ever done anything like that, I felt like I took so much from doing it. I’ve always said I love pop music and how much I want to write pop music.”
