New York City-based duo Cults will release the follow-up to their 2011, self-titled debut in October.

Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion have been locked away in New York recording sessions during the course of 2012 with their previous collaborator Shane Stoneback, as well as producer Ben Allen.

They release ‘Static‘ on October 15th through Columbia. Stoneback has previously worked with the likes of Sleigh Bells and Vampire Weekend, while Allen counts Animal Collective and Washed Out among his past cohorts.

Cults are all set to finish up a tour of North America on July 28th in Seattle after a series of shows with their five-piece live act which includes Gabe Rodriguez (guitar), Nathan Aguilar (bass) and Cory Stier (drums).

In September, Follin and Oblivion will be in Dallas, Texas on the 7th for an appearance at the Untapped Festival. A day later, they travel to Sacramento, California where the 2013 Launch Festival takes place.
