The brand new Leeds Arena played host to its first ever gig last night (July 24th) as one of rock music’s biggest stars rolled into town.

Bruce Springsteen gave the new site a fitting launch with one of his legendary mammoth sets, which included classic favourites such as ‘Dancing In The Dark‘, ‘Thunder Road‘ and ‘Badlands‘, while there were also covers of Patti Smith and Creedence Clearwater Revival tracks along with an airing of the Isley Brothers‘ ‘Shout‘.

Elton John is due to official open the venue on September 4th, with Leonard Cohen, Vampire Weekend and the Kaiser Chiefs among the other acts with shows booked during the coming months.
