Video: Folks unveil new track ‘We’re All Dead’

Folks have unveiled the video for their new single ‘We’re All Dead‘ ahead of the start of a UK tour later this week.

‘We’re All Dead’ is a precursor to the band’s second album, which has been recorded with the former Oasis and Black Crowes cohort Paul ‘Strangeboy’ Stacey.

“‘We’re All Dead’ is inspired by J G Ballard’s short story ‘The Life and Death of God’ and is an atypical Folks song is many ways,” Folks’ Michael Beasley remarks.

“It’s more heartfelt and timeless. We started to perform the song on our recent tour with Band of Skulls and it became a band favourite. It is a great counterpoint to our other songs. We’re not the first band to be inspired by J G Ballard – Joy Division, Klaxons, even Madonna have referenced his dystopian vision. We’re living in the Ballardian nightmare and there’s so much doom and gloom around. This song is our perspective of a hopeful and optimistic future.”

The UK tour kicks off at the Islington in London on June 7th, and subsequently takes in shows in Leeds, Sheffield and Edinburgh before a final date on June 15th at the Soup Kitchen in Manchester.
