Review: Miraculous Mule – ‘Satisfied’

muleartPicture this.

You’re sat in the driving seat of an open-top car rolling through the landscape of Route 66. Not a care in the world. No destination. Just a journey through the American Deep South. Reaching out a hand you switch on the radio; immediately you’re transported back to the days of classic rock and the surrounding scenery is the perfect place to be at that moment.

The song? Miraculous Mule’s new single. Are you satisfied? Good, because by the sounds of it, they’re definitely not.

On Monday, July 15th, ‘Satisfied’ will be available for digital download and it marks the first foray into Miraculous Mule’s catalogue of songs which will make up their debut LP ‘Deep Fried‘ – set to be released in October.

On first listen, the setting above was the immediate image. With a drum beat reminiscent of a steam train chugging its way across the land, and a style splashed with rock ‘n’ roll, gospel and a shade of blues, how can you think of anything else?

The trio seem to pride themselves on their love of the classics, and just from the tone of the echoed backing vocals that’s clear to hear. The attention to detail could even fool you into thinking it was an old vinyl dug up from a long lost collection of treasured memories.

Either way this toe-tapping, hand-clapping, finger-clicking number could easily be a hit with those who love a good imaginative escape farther West and farther back in time.

If you’re after more of the same, look up Miraculous Mule and see them live on July 11th at Paper Dress Vintage in Shoreditch, London.

We’re sure they’ll have more in store.
