Morrissey will mark his 25th year as a solo artist with a new live DVD, according to fansite True To You.

Entitled Morrissey 25: Live, the film captures the singer live in concert at the Hollywood High School on March 2nd this year during a fractured tour of North America.

It is pencilled in for a worldwide cinema release in August, and is his first DVD for nine years.

Morrissey embarked on a solo career very soon after the break-up of The Smiths in 1987, and released his debut album ‘Viva Hate‘ in the March of 1988.

The latest chapter of his solo story is due to begin with a South American tour next month, after he was reported to have ‘fully recovered’ from the serious illnesses which eventually curtailed the touring plans of late 2012 and early 2013.

If all goes well, the dates will open up with two nights at the Jockey Club in Lima, Peru on July 9th and 10th.
