Bloc Party have confirmed the details of a brand new EP first discussed by the band in May.
Entitled ‘The Nextwave Sessions‘, the five-track EP is due for release on August 12th and was recorded on the road as they promoted last year’s full length comeback album ‘Four‘.
It is led with the track ‘Ratchet‘ which received its premiere yesterday as the latest edition of BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record in the World series.
“‘Ratchet’ was the first song we recorded with Dan,” frontman Kele Okereke has commented, referencing their work with producer Dan Carey.
“It really came together whilst we were on tour in 2012. We started slipping it into the sets at the start of this year just to try it out and the reactions were insane. We knew we had something special.”
