Video: Metallica unveil first Through The Never movie trailer

Metallica have unveiled the first trailer for their intriguing 3D film Through The Never; it is available to watch via YouTube at the end of this article.

The movie combines live concert footage with a traditional fictional plot, and has actor Dane DeHaan playing the part of a crew member who is given an urgent mission during a Metallica show. It has been written and directed by Nimród Antal.

“Nim and the band have made a film that really captures the spirit of Metallica and their millions of loyal fans,” Bob Berney, president of distributors Picturehouse, has told The Wrap. “It’s an entertaining genre film with a concert inside it, a fun ride featuring an exciting young actor, Dane DeHaan.”

Metallica first told the world of their movie plans at the start of this year when they announced:

“We’re here to tell you that, yes, there is indeed a 3D project in the very early stages of production! We wish we could tell you more right now, but we don’t have all the finer points nailed down just yet.”

“What we can tell you is that we are planning on being in a theatre near you sometime in 2013 and as you hear us say ever so often, this will be the space for all the details as we finalise them.”
