Arctic Monkeys debuted a brand new song last night (May 22nd) during their first live outing of 2013. Fan footage of the track ‘Do I Wanna Know?‘ has been posted on YouTube, and can be viewed below.
The Sheffield band were appearing at the Majestic Ventura Theater in California, and aired a career-spanning set as they hit the stage for the first time since their performance at the London Olympic Games’ opening ceremony last summer.
Back in March, drummer Matt Helders told BBC Newsbeat they hoped to have a new album released some time this year. “Hopefully we’ll get it out this year – that’s the plan,” he said, adding that nothing had at that time been fully recorded for the LP.
“We’ve just been working stuff out with the band,” he continued. “Nothing serious yet. It’s just been us four working stuff out like we used to I guess. We had a bit of a break. It’s always weird when you first get back into it to know what kind of songs we write any more.”
