Vampire Weekend at number one on UK Record Store Chart

The UK Record Store Chart, compiled entirely from sales registered at Britain’s independent record shops, has Vampire Weekend as its number one this week with their third LP ‘Modern Vampires Of The City‘.

Primal Scream‘s ‘More Light‘ is another high new entry at no.3, while Rod Stewart, on top of the main chart rundown, debuts at #5.

Elsewhere, David Bowie‘s comeback album ‘The Next Day‘ holds on to a top 20 spot (#17), and Savages slip down to no.4 with ‘Silence Yourself‘.
