Tunng have announced an October tour of the UK as they prepare to release the new album ‘Turbines‘ on June 17th.

The lead track ‘The Village‘ has been made available on Soundcloud (below), and is described by founding member Mike Lindsay as being set in a, ‘Make believe world, where you can’t get away from the strange characters you encounter’.

“It’s about the feeling that you’re the only sane person in an unstable situation,” he continues. “The village could be a place, but also a party, a job or a whole country.”

The full UK tour is preceded by twin shows at the Lexington in London on July 8th and 9th, with a gig at the Heaven venue in London later launching the October tour on the 8th of that month.

“The best thing about working with this band is that we can throw all the ingredients in, give it a good shake, and see where it lands,” says Phil Winter.

“It’s our sci-fi folk rock album,” Lindsay adds of the band’s fifth studio effort. “It’s been an adventure that has taken us all over the world. An amazing journey.”
