Vaccines frontman Justin Young has said working with One Direction pair Harry Styles and Niall Horan was an ‘exciting process’.
Speaking to MTV, Young described the pop duo as ‘natural writers’. “I love writing songs and love pop music, so the process was exciting,” he told MTV.
“I don’t think they are going for a heavier, indie sound. Maybe it’s damaged my credibility, but it wasn’t The Vaccines who wrote for them, it was me, so I doubt it’s damaged the band’s.”
Justin Young first outlined his hook-up with the pop band earlier this year, when he told BBC Newsbeat that the experience was, “A really interesting creative process, writing with pretty much the biggest pop band on the planet.”
“It was a very different world and very different process – that was one of the reasons I wanted to do it. I really enjoyed it. It’s the first time I’ve ever done anything like that, I felt like I took so much from doing it. I’ve always said I love pop music and how much I want to write pop music.”
