Primal Scream have begun streaming their new album ‘More Light‘ online ahead of its release on May 13th.

Side A has been uploaded to YouTube today (May 7th), with Side B due to follow from 6pm (GMT). Sides C and D will then be posted tomorrow at 8am and 12pm respectively. Listen here

‘More Light’, Primal Scream’s first studio release since bass player Mani returned to the Stone Roses in October 2011, was recorded in London and Los Angeles and was later mixed by Rich Costey.

Previously described by frontman Bobby Gillespie as ‘modern rock n roll’, its sleeve has been designed by the former Turner Prize nominee Jim Labie. “It’s a rock’n’roll record, but modern rock’n’roll,” Gillespie said.

“Pretty psychedelic rock, it’s kind of guitar-driven but we use guitars in an orchestral way, not in the normal way people make rock records. I think we do it in a more interesting way. We weave the guitars in with electronics and other acoustic instruments to make the core sound.”
