Three British artists Jessie J, Olly Murs and Emeli Sande (photo), made the top 10 list of UK music licensing company PPL‘s most played pop songs list of 2012.

Jonathan Morrish of PPL said: “The top ten most-played pop songs is always an impressive insight into what the nation has been listening to the previous year. These songs will undoubtedly stay with us for a long time.

PPL work on behalf of record companies and performers to license the public performance and broadcast of recorded music. When an artist’s music is broadcast or used in public in the UK or abroad, royalties collected are distributed to their record companies and the performers.

This chart is put together from data the PPL collects which includes radio play and the use of recordings on television and in venues such as pubs, clubs, shops and bars.

Jessie J topped the last year’s list with her second number one single Domino.
